The tweets, mostly quite emotional, are set in white on a black background and are reminiscent of an obituary, while the longer forum posts often include requests for help and technical details. Sources are provided for all quotations. The title of the book also comes from a tweet.
In addition, the artist has edited a five-minute video of footage of people talking online about the data loss they experience after their devices fail. According to the opening credits, they go through five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
